SATISFACTORY ECHELON OF PATIENTS VISITING PUNJAB INSTITUTE OF CARDIOLOGY AND HOSPITAL, LAHORE

ABSTRACT:

Background: The echelon of fulfillment of patients who visit a medical facility is a comparative phenomenon. It embodies the perspective needs of the patients, the level of fulfillment of their expectations from the health system and their respective experience of the health care. ‘Patient Satisfaction’ may be defined as, the measure of patient-reported outcome while the measurement of efficacy and proficiency of structures and processes of health care go hand in hand. Objective: The purpose of the study is to conclude the height of satisfaction of patients with respect to the services provided in the Punjab Institute of Cardiology and Hospital, Lahore. Study Design: Evocative cross sectional learning. Setting: CCU, Punjab Institute of Cardiology and Hospital, Lahore. Study Period: The research and study was conducted from 1st December, 2018 to 1st April, 2019. Material and method: Sample of 100 patients who were attending CCU of PIC was interviewed and answers were recorded in the form of opinion poll and questionnaire that employed Likert Scale. Ethical issues: Interviews were conducted after taking the proper permission of related authorities and also taking informed consent from Patient. Sampling Technique: Expedient sampling method. Inclusion Criteria: Patients attending the CCU who have received some previous cardiac treatment somewhere else. Data Analysis: Microsoft Excel was used to enter the collected data along with frequencies and percentages. Data presentation: In the form of tables, charts and graphs data is presented. Results: The domino effect of the study expose that 99% of the patients were satisfied with the services provided at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology and Hospital, Lahore whereas only 1% showed dissatisfaction. This result is based upon the questions asked related to the basic admission policy into the hospital, the professional attitude of the hospital the overall environment of the CCU building. The limits applied to the study are also mentioned hereafter in the details. Conclusion: The broad and huge bulk of the respondents being satisfied with the overall functioning and health care services provided at the CCU reveals a high degree of professional sufficiency and optimum execution capability of the CCU, PIC. This is theme topic to multiple reasons which are discussed after this.
