BODY STUFFER CASE REPORT AND LITERATURE REVIEW

People use various methods to conceal illicit drugs for the purposes of trafficking them while evading detection. Body stuffers, unwrapped or poorly wrapped drugs, are impulsively swallowed or inserted vaginally or rectally to avoid detection and apprehension. The amount of drugs involved is usually much smaller than that used by body packers who swallow drugs in rubber or latex packaging, typically for the purpose of trafficking. Body stuffers are one of the rare emergency room presentations with no clear guidelines regarding management, and ideal management differs depending on multiple factors, such as the type of drug and concealment, the amount of the drug, the time since it was ingested, any co-ingested constipating agents, and the drug’s wrappings.1 Furthermore, we are reporting this case because we are not familiar with such cases in Saudi Arabia, also found that management should be directed towards patient’s presentation.
