TITLE:

RELATIONSHIP OF HIGH TRIGLYCERIDE AND CHOLESTEROL LEVEL IN PATIENTS WITH HYPERTENSION, DIABETES AND CEREBROVASCULAR ACCIDENTS

ABSTRACT:

Aim: To assess the prevalence of high cholesterol and triglycerides in patients with diabetes, hypertension and stroke. Place and Duration: In the Medicine department of Govt General Hospital, Ghulam Muhammad Abad, Faisalabad for one-year duration from January 2019 to January 2020. Methods: A total of 150 patients were selected from the medicine department after randomized sampling technique. Results: Isolated stroke was found in 93 (62%) of 150 patients and isolated diabetes in 57 (38%). Isolated hypertension was found in 21(7%), 6(2%) patients showed combined hypertension, CVA and diabetes mellitus. Combined hypertension and stroke were observed in 18 (6%) patients. Diabetes and hypertension were combined in 20 (6.7%) patients, and diabetes and stroke in 7 (2.3%) patients. Key words: diabetes, hypertension, stroke.
