Abstract :

Cardiac arrest remains a leading cause of mortality worldwide, with outcomes heavily dependent on the timeliness and quality of prehospital care. Ambulance-based innovations have significantly transformed cardiac arrest management, integrating advanced technologies, improved CPR techniques, pharmacological interventions, and real-time decision-making tools. This review explores the latest advancements in prehospital cardiac care, including automated external defibrillators, mechanical CPR devices, telemedicine, and the application of artificial intelligence. Additionally, the article highlights the critical role of training and simulation in enhancing the performance of emergency medical personnel. It evaluates the impact of these innovations on survival rates, neurological outcomes, and healthcare systems’ cost-effectiveness. The challenges of implementing these advancements, particularly in low-resource settings, are also discussed alongside future directions for integrating emerging technologies. This comprehensive review underscores the pivotal role of ambulance-based interventions in improving cardiac arrest outcomes and the need for continued innovation and global collaboration to address existing disparities in emergency medical services.
Keywords: Cardiac arrest, prehospital care, ambulance innovations, mechanical CPR, artificial intelligence, emergency medical services, survival outcomes, telemedicine, emergency training, EMS challenges.
