Abstract :

Peptic ulcers, characterized by the erosion of the gastrointestinal mucosa, pose significant health challenges globally. Traditional treatments often come with adverse effects, prompting interest in herbal remedies as potential alternatives. This review article explores various herbs with demonstrated efficacy in treating peptic ulcers, focusing on their pharmacological properties, active compounds, and mechanisms of action. We analyze studies highlighting the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and mucosal protective effects of herbal extracts such as Aloe vera, Ginger, Liquorice, and garlic ageal marmelos. Furthermore, we discuss the synergistic effects of these herbs when used in conjunction with conventional therapies. By synthesizing current research, this article aims to provide insights into the therapeutic potential of herbal medicine in peptic ulcer management, emphasizing the need for further clinical trials to validate these findings and establish standardized treatment protocols.
