ANTI-UROLITHIATIC ACTIVITY USING HERBAL FORMULATION IN IN-VITRO STUDIES

Abstract :
Ouret lanata ,a well-known medicinal herb in Ayurveda, is widely used for its diuretic, anti-inflammatory, hypoglycemic, anti-diabetic, antiparasitic, antimicrobial, hepoprotective, anti-urolithiasis, antiasthmatic, antifertility and hypolipidemic properties Recent studies suggest that ouret lanata also exhibits promising anti urolithatic activity The present study aimed to evaluate the in vitro anti-urolithiasis potential of ouret lanata Ethanolic extract of Aerva lanata contains various phytochemicals, such as steroids, flavonoids cardioglycosides, alkaloids, tannins, carbohydrates, and terpenoids. The study demonstrated that ouert lanata could be a promising natural anti-urolithiasis agent. Further studies are recommended to isolate and characterize the active constituents and evaluate their pharmacological potential. Ouret lanata showed significant anti-urolithiasis activity with the ethanolic extract being more effective than the aqueous extract. The study highlights the potential of ouret lanata as a natural anti urolithatic agent
