THE ROLE OF PLANT-BASED EXTRACTS IN THE HEALING OF DIABETIC FOOT ULCERS
Authors :
Noorsaba A. Pathan*
Abstract :
The purpose of this review is to provide verified data on the various herbal extract that shows healing in diabetic wounds. Herbal products and their active constituents used for diabetic wound healing activity, and various cellular and molecular mechanisms of their actions will also be described. Study shows that depending on the factors that affecting the wound formation and the healing process. The biological factors and the genetic factors affecting the formation diabetic foot ulcer. With the use of active constituents present in the herbal plants made use in the formulations diabetic wound should be cure. Herbal products through different mechanisms of angiogenesis, production of cytokines and growth factors, keratinocytes, and fibroblast migration and fibroblast migration and proliferation may be considered as an important support for substitutes for synthetic drugs and conventional and sustained drugs therapy. This will affecting on both the acute and the chronic wound healing process. As the herbal natural extracts have no adverse effects on the body.
Keywords: Herbal extracts, diabetic wound, foot ulcer wounds, bacterial wound infection.
