Abstract :

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. This review provides a comprehensive analysis of diabetes, including its types, pathophysiology, and the latest advancements in its management. It discusses Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, highlighting their distinct etiologies and clinical manifestations. The review explores current therapeutic strategies, including lifestyle modifications, pharmacological treatments, and emerging technologies such as continuous glucose monitoring and insulin pumps. Additionally, it addresses the role of personalized medicine and the impact of recent research in developing novel treatments. By examining these aspects, the review aims to present a holistic view of diabetes management and future directions in improving patient outcomes.
Keywords: Diabetes mellitus, Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, Hyperglycemia, Insulin therapy, Lifestyle modifications
