Abstract :
The study aimed to develop and evaluate fast-dissolving films of Lansoprazole, designed to enhance drug delivery, improve patient compliance, and provide rapid onset of therapeutic action. Lansoprazole fast-dissolving films were formulated using various film-forming polymers, plasticizers, and other excipients. The films were prepared through a solvent casting technique, and their physical properties—including appearance, thickness, and flexibility—were assessed. Key formulation parameters were optimized to achieve a rapid disintegration time and effective drug release. In vitro dissolution tests were conducted to evaluate the release profile of Lansoprazole, and disintegration studies were performed in simulated saliva to ensure the films dissolve quickly. The formulated fast-dissolving films exhibited favorable characteristics, including uniform thickness, adequate flexibility, and rapid disintegration in oral conditions. The in vitro dissolution studies demonstrated a prompt and consistent release of Lansoprazole, aligning with the intended rapid onset of action. The development of Lansoprazole fast-dissolving films was successful in achieving a rapid and effective drug release profile. The films offer a promising alternative to traditional oral dosage forms, improving patient convenience and adherence.
