Abstract :
Infection control is a critical aspect of healthcare, essential for ensuring patient safety and preventing the spread of infectious diseases. Effective infection control requires collaboration among diverse healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and infection control specialists. This review explores the significance of interdisciplinary cooperation in infection control, examining recent research on collaborative practices that enhance infection prevention and reduce healthcare-associated infections. Key areas of focus include hand hygiene compliance, personal protective equipment usage, antimicrobial stewardship, and patient education. The review identifies strategies such as joint training, multidisciplinary meetings, standardized communication protocols, and leadership support that facilitate cooperation. Challenges to effective collaboration, including cultural and hierarchical barriers, are also discussed. Recommendations emphasize the need for integrated training, shared responsibility, and robust institutional support to foster a culture of teamwork in infection control. Future research should continue to investigate innovative approaches for enhancing interdisciplinary cooperation to improve infection control outcomes.
