Abstract :
Paramedics play a pivotal role in modern emergency response systems, acting as the critical link between the prehospital environment and definitive medical care. This review examines the evolving responsibilities of paramedics, the integration of advanced technologies, and the impact of their interventions on patient outcomes. It highlights key challenges, including workforce shortages, occupational stress, and logistical constraints, while exploring innovative solutions such as telemedicine, simulation-based training, and evidence-based protocols. By analyzing global practices and emerging trends, this article underscores the need for policy reforms, enhanced training, and investment in resources to empower paramedics and improve emergency healthcare delivery.
Keywords: Paramedics, Emergency medical services (EMS), Prehospital care, Patient outcomes, Workforce challenges, Telemedicine.
