Abstract :

Nephroprotective agents play a crucial role in mitigating kidney damage caused by toxins and diseases which plays a major role by phytochemicals which are derived from medicinal plants, focusing on their mechanisms of action, therapeutic applications, and associated risks. Key mechanisms include antioxidant activity, anti-inflammatory effects, and enhancement of renal blood flow. The methodology encompasses both in vitro and in vivo models to evaluate the efficacy of these compounds, along with biochemical, histological, and molecular assessments. Notable phytochemicals such as curcumin, berberine, and eugenol demonstrate significant health benefits, including anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties. However, potential adverse effects highlight the importance of careful dosage control. The findings underscore the value of phytochemicals as natural alternatives to synthetic drugs in treating chronic diseases. Continued research and clinical trials are essential to optimize their use, ensuring safety and efficacy. This work advocates for the integration of phytochemicals into modern medicine, bridging traditional practices with contemporary therapeutic strategies for enhanced patient care.
