Abstract :

Abstract:
Childhood emergencies, ranging from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions, require prompt and effective first aid to prevent further harm or fatal outcomes. This systematic review explores the most common pediatric emergencies and evaluates the current practices, preparedness levels, and response strategies in administering first aid to children. By examining studies from 2010 onward, the review identifies the most prevalent emergencies, including choking, fractures, burns, and allergic reactions, and highlights best practices for intervention. It also assesses the knowledge, confidence, and preparedness of caregivers, parents, and teachers in responding to such situations. Despite advancements in first aid techniques, gaps in training and preparedness persist, particularly among untrained individuals. The review concludes that widespread first aid education, improved accessibility to first aid resources, and increased awareness can significantly enhance emergency outcomes for children. Further research is recommended to assess the effectiveness of new training methods and technologies in pediatric first aid preparedness.
Keywords: Childhood emergencies, pediatric first aid, emergency preparedness, choking, burns, fractures, allergic reactions, first aid training, caregivers, systematic review.
