Abstract :

First aid awareness plays a crucial role in improving emergency response and saving lives during critical situations. Timely administration of first aid before professional help arrives can significantly reduce mortality and the severity of injuries. This article explores the vital importance of first aid knowledge in empowering individuals and communities to act swiftly during emergencies such as cardiac arrests, severe bleeding, and choking. It highlights the barriers to widespread first aid training, including access limitations and cultural misconceptions. The article also discusses successful public health campaigns that promote first aid awareness and the integration of first aid education in schools and workplaces. Furthermore, it emphasizes the synergy between first aid interventions and emergency medical services, especially in bridging the critical time gap in life-threatening situations. Global perspectives on first aid awareness are examined, showcasing how developing nations can benefit from improved access to first aid training. Ultimately, the article calls for increased efforts to promote first aid as a fundamental skill that can save lives in emergencies.
