Title:

FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF IMMEDIATE RELEASE TABLETS OF CAPECITABINE

Authors :

Anitha peta, Ayesha Siddiqua

Abstract :

In the present research work Capecitabine immediate release tablets were prepared by direct compression method using varying concentrations of Crospovidone, Cros carmellose sodium and Sodium starch glycolate .The formulations prepared were evaluated for pre compression and post compression parameters. From the drug excipient compatibility studies, we observe that there are no interactions between the pure drug Capecitabine and optimized formulation which indicates there are no physical changes. Post compression parameters was found to be within limits. Among all the formulation prepared the tablet containing 60mg of CCS shows 99.10 % of the drug release within 45mints.
Keywords: Capecitabine, Crospovidone, Cros carmellose sodium and Sodium starch glycolate
