Abstract :
Withania somnifera is commonly called as Ashwagandha/Asgand and it belongs to the family Solanaceae. It is a well known medicinal plant widely used in the treatment of many clinical conditions in Indian subcontinent. In traditional medical systems, various parts (leaf, stem, flowers, roots, seeds, bark, and even plants) of the small herb found throughout India, withhania somnifera (known as ashwagandha), are recommended for the treatment of aflogisia, liver tonics, anti-inflammatory patients, and recent aggressive patients. Symptoms, aging, senile dementia, etc. Clinical and animal studies support the therapeutic use of Ashwagandha for anxiety, cognitive and neurological diseases, inflammation, and patient diseases. The chemotherapy properties of Ashwagandha make it a potentially useful addition to patients receiving radiation and chemotherapy.
Ashwagandha is also used therapeutically as an adaptogen in patients with stress-induced neurofatigue, insomnia, and immunohistopathy in patients with low leukocytes in the blood. The most important biochemical components of Aschwaganda root are steroidal alkaloids and steroid lactones in the Wemhanolids class.
