Abstract :
Background: Diuresis is a pathological condition of frequent urination in diabetes insipidus, diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, heart failure and Liver cirrhosis antidiretic drugs are used to treat diuresis in this study we evaluate the herbal drug antiduretic activity
Material and method: In this preclinical research 54 rats weigheing 120 gm are used and tested with herbal drugs Sagitaria saggittifolia and Zornia dyctiocarpa on the wistar rats. Initially drug is extraction is done by ethanolic extract and subjected to the GC-MS test, in vitro test and Phytochemical evaluation had confirmed our herbal drugs show the potential antidiuretic activity then we proceeded with In vivo test on 54 wistar rats for 30 days by oral administration of herbal drugs and standard drug on last day we collected blood sample through the capillary tubes, urine samples for Flame photometry test and collected the organ kidney for histopathological test sent to lab for test and reports
Result: Our herbal drug exerted mild antidiuretic activity individually and strong antidiuretic activity in combination of 2 herbal drugs, Sagitaria saggittifolia is 46% effective and Zornia dyctiocarpa is 40% effective compared to the standard drug Vasopressin.
Conclusion: Antidiuresis activity is evaluated with herbal drugs Sagitaria sagittifolia and Zornia dyctiocarpa of ethanolic extract is found to posses mild antidiuretic activity individually by the plants Sagitaria sagittifolia (Plant 1) and Zornia dyctiocarpa (Plant 2) compared to the standard drug vasopressin, and it exhibited maximum or potent antidiuretic activity (i.e., synergistic) in combination of Sagitaria saggittifolia and Zornia dyctiocarpa in (2 plants dose: 400mg/kg) as it has been confirmed with the laboratory test result data of 54 Wistar rats.
