Abstract :
Fast dissolving Tablets are disintegrating and/or dissolve rapidly in the saliva without the need for water. Some tablets are designed to dissolve in saliva remarkably fast, within a few seconds, and are true fast-dissolving tablets. Oral routes of drug administration have wide acceptance up to 50-60% of total dosage forms. Solid dosage forms are popular because of ease of administration, accurate dosage, self medication, pain avoidance and most importantly the patient compliance. This tablet format is designed to allow administration of an oral solid dose form in the absence of water or fluid intake. The purpose of this research work to formulate and evaluate fast dissolving tablets of piaglitazone. Tablets containing piaglitazone ,sodium starch glycolate & crospovidone were prepared by direct compression technique.Tablets containing sodium starch glycolate along with crospovidone is showing excellent results as compare to other formulations.
