Abstract :
Metachronous colonic cancer is typically diagnosed at least six months following primary colorectal tumor surgery. Multiple primary cancers, although uncommon, have increased in incidence due to advances in diagnostic imaging, life expectancy, and interventional methods with associated risks. We introduce you a case of a 53-year-old female who presented with right lower quadrant and epigastric pain. She was a known case of sigmoid cancer, post-resection, and on adjuvant chemotherapy. A comprehensive evaluation, including laboratory testing, colonoscopy, and CT scan, confirmed a diagnosis of metachronous colonic hepatic flexure cancer via histopathology. The patient underwent right hemicolectomy with primary anastomosis. This is among the rare cases of metachronous colonic cancer reported in Saudi Arabia.
