Abstract :

The outcomes from method validation can be utilized to evaluate the quality, reliability, and consistency of analytical results. A review of existing literature indicates that a limited number of methods, including UV spectrophotometry, HPLC, and HPTLC, have been documented for the simultaneous estimation of brinzolamide and brimonidine5. Additionally, UV derivative spectrophotometric techniques have been reported for the analysis of timolol and brinzolamide. However, there is currently no UV spectrophotometric method available for the standalone estimation of brinzolamide. Therefore, there is an immediate need for a standardized method that meets all validation requirements according to ICH guidelines. This study focuses on the development and validation of a straightforward, sensitive, accurate, and precise UV method for the determination of brinzolamide on its own.
This analytical method fills a significant gap in the existing literature, as it is the first dedicated UV spectrophotometric method for the standalone estimation of Brinzolamide. By providing a cost-effective and efficient alternative for routine quality control, this method not only enhances the analytical capabilities in pharmaceutical settings but also contributes to ensuring the quality and efficacy of Brinzolamide formulations used in the treatment of glaucoma. Future studies can build upon this foundation to further explore the application of this method in different matrices or in conjunction with other active pharmaceutical ingredients.
