Abstract :

Herbal formulations have been an integral part of traditional medicine systems, offering natural and effective remedies with minimal side effects. Among these, balms are semi-solid topical preparations commonly used for relieving pain, inflammation, and congestion. The demand for herbal balms is increasing due to growing awareness about the benefits of plant-based treatments over synthetic alternatives. This project focuses on the formulation and evaluation of a herbal balm using turmeric (Curcuma longa) and clove oil (Syzygium aromaticum),both known for their potent medicinal properties .Turmeric is widely recognized for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant activities. The active compound curcum in plays a crucial role in reducing pain and swelling, making it an excellent ingredient for topical applications. Clove oil, rich in eugenol, possesses analgesic, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties. It provides a warming effect and is traditionally used for relieving muscle pain and respiratory congestion. The combination of turmeric and clove oil in a balm formulation aims to enhance therapeutic efficacy by providing synergistic effects.
