HERBAL ALTERNATIVE TO CHEMICAL MOUTHWASH EFFICACY AND SAFETY REVIEW

Abstract :
Mouthwash is a liquid solution used to rinse the mouth, teeth, and gums to promote oral hygiene. It’s typically used after brushing and flossing to kill bacteria, freshen breath, and reduce plaque andgingivitis.Herbal mouthwash is a type of mouthwash that uses natural ingredients like herbs, essential oils, and plant extracts to promote oral hygiene. It often contains ingredients like: Neem: antibacterial properties.Tulsi: anti-inflammatory properties.Peppermint oil: freshens breath and soothes gums. Tea tree oil: antimicrobial properties.Eucalyptus oil: decongestant and antiseptic properties. Herbal mouthwashes are often preferred by those seeking a more natural alternative to traditional mouthwashes, which may contain artificial ingredients and chemicals.It becomes more popular in market because of it’s effectiveness.In this preparation,he herb extract are obtained from the leaves ,fruits,flower,bark,root of various plants.Herbal mouthwashes have no or less side effects.Chewing of tulsi leaves helps clear ulcers and infections of the mouth.As mouthwash ,it useful against bad breath and for maintaining healthy gums.
