Abstract :

Paramedics form the backbone of emergency medical services (EMS), serving as the critical link between incident scenes and hospital care. Their clinical autonomy, rapid decision-making, and evidence-based interventions directly influence patient survival and functional recovery. This comprehensive review synthesizes current evidence on paramedic-led interventions that improve outcomes across diverse emergencies, including cardiac arrest, trauma, stroke, and respiratory distress. It examines how prehospital application of advanced life support (ALS), airway management, early pharmacologic administration, and digital telemedicine tools enhance survival and quality of care. Moreover, the review highlights system-level strategies, such as continuous education, AI-driven triage, and collaborative practice models that expand paramedic competencies. The findings emphasize that strengthening paramedic roles within integrated emergency systems leads to better patient outcomes, resource optimization, and resilience in healthcare delivery.
