Abstract :

Herbal face creams are gaining popularity due to presence of natural ingredients and due to their safety and minimal side effects compared to synthetic cosmetic products. The present study aimed to formulate and evaluate a herbal face cream by using plant-based ingredients which are known for their moisturizing, skin protective and anti-oxidant properties. The cream formulations F1-F3 was prepared by using herbal extracts such as amla, turmeric, aloe Vera respectively and rose water into an oil-in-water emulsion base. Various physicochemical parameters like appearance, pH, spreadability, viscosity, homogeneity, washability and stability were evaluated.
The results suggests that formulated F3 herbal face cream is safe, stable and effective for skincare. The use of natural herbal ingredients gives additional benefits like anti-microbial, anti-oxidant and skin- nourishing effects, making it alternative to conventional cosmetic creams. Further clinical studies may be conducted to evaluate its long-term safety, efficacy and consumer acceptability.
